Schoolboy Reece makes Billy Elliot West End debut

CITY schoolboy Reece Barrett has begun his run in the West End as one of the stars of a musical.
As the Echo reported, Reece Barrett, 12, is now appearing as Michael in the new Billy Elliot show.
Reece, of Tristan Close, Beacon Heath, previously attended Exeter’s Stage Coach drama school.
He passed selection auditions back in March but was asked by Billy Elliot talent scouts to get some training from Pollyana Buckingham, the owner of Buckingham Dance Studio in Paignton.
The gruelling and intensive training took place between March and June this year.
After a week’s wait to see if Reece had been selected, he was told he would be Michael and would have to undergo tough rehearsals in London throughout the summer.
Mrs Buckingham said: “I’m so proud of him. He had his first show last month and it went brilliantly.”
The show had been due to open this month but was brought forward.
Reece is now under contract for one year and will appear in the show several times a week.
Mrs Buckingham added: “Reece received some great reviews after his first performance. He was over the moon. He was quite chuffed having to sign his first autograph
